John Barnes visits orphanage in Angola
Former England midfielder takes coaching session with children in Luanda
Former England midfielder, John Barnes, today took part in a special coaching session with children at the Lar Cuzola Orphanage in Luanda.
The session was organised as part of the England 2018 delegation visit to Luanda for the African Cup of Nations and CAF Congress. England 2018 Chief Executive Andy Anson is leading the delegation which includes Director of Campaign Operations, Jane Bateman.
Following the session with local children England 2018 Vice-President, Barrnes, said: "Playing football with these youngsters at the Lar Cuzola Orphanage was a tremendous experience as they are so clearly in love with the game.
"It was also a reminder that football can have a powerful and positive impact on young people. English football has been involved in football development in Africa for more than a decade with schemes such as The English FA's International Development Programme doing some excellent work and we want to keep building on that.
"A World Cup in England would help us continue to develop these schemes which is one of the reasons why we are so committed to the England 2018 World Cup Bid."
